Life in the neighbor’s garden seems greener,
But it wasn’t destined for these Okie dreamers
With barren land and not a hope to rest on,
Dreamer’s planned to move on with the past long gone,
They crossed the canyons but at great cost,
And did not heed the voices of those who had already lost.
A kingdom administered by the evils of a deceiver,
Where true beauty exists solely in the mind of the believer.
We all know that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
And we worship it through the chants and hymns to the Holy Moulder,
They approached the land filled with hopelessness and fear,
But hoped that they would with hard work persevere,
But the poor dreamers were fooled through chicanery and swindle,
Causing their situation to deteriorate and numbers to dwindle,
After the flood, the offer of milk was revealing,
A ray of light in the darkness that came as a blessing.
