The Death of You
I'm a simple schizophrenic
In a sane state of mind
I live by contradictions
Incompletely intertwined
There's a wave of emotions
Running miles through my veins
Destroying all that's in its path
Yet everything remains
Just close your eyes, inhale my lyrics
I'm silently screaming out
Slightly far from tenuous
Are my words without a doubt
Caught up in a choke-hold
Full of ambiguity and fear
Enchanted by addiction
I am serious but not sincere
We're lost in quiet whispers
That are floating through my head
Searching for a shrouded thought
That will stir up all the dread
Condescending words from
An unpretentious source
Insinuate what is to come
Directing us off course
All the suspense is now wasted
As we come gliding to a halt
Created all for nothing
Left drowning in our faults
Searching for hidden meanings
In the faces of the crowd
Everyone has left by now
But leaving is not allowed
Chasing down this addiction
Tearing through your mind
Torturing out a confession
No thought is left behind
When the affliction catches up
You will be completely through
You might as well keep running
I will be the death of you
