The Final Tears
My tears,
due to your causes.
I run,
you never follow.
on my own,
now alone.
you snag me again.
it’s effortless.
you smiled,
I smiled.
you laughed,
I laughed.
you promised me the moon,
you said I was your star,
like the sun you are my world.
why must I fall again?
then I was crying all of my own accord,
something you had never seen before.
you looked at me,
and looked away.
my world shattered,
you sneer at me now with contempt.
I feel a dull penetrating ache,
but yet no tears prick my eyes.
