bloom
on that warm wednesday afternoon
you began to sing me a different tune
one of the simple things and forget me nots
and how we'd try to not get caught
in all those days and all those thoughts
on that warm wednesday afternoon
i remember you swooned
or how when you left you said it's much too soon
so i pulled you in and said how i loved your perfume
and you turned away saying how you needed to bloom
on this cold wednesday afternoon
all i can feel is this mounting monsoon
this feeling of oncoming doom
how can i ever sew up this wound
the only thing i can think is, how long does it take to bloom
