Season's Change
The winter nights hold cold and airy winds
That shakes the empty branches of the trees
And whispers through the sky their ghostly hymns
That sound from nature's lonely, hollow pleas.
But softly through this wind do flowers fly,
To spread their seed across our home and land,
And in abundance do these seeds supply,
The flowers that through summer's heat withstand.
So though the weather may be harsh and cold,
And feels as though some thief has stol'n the sun,
To summer months does winter then behold,
To end, for now, the cycle its undone.
