lost.
i watch the ocean waves
crashing in one by one,
coming to die at the shore.
the day crumbles away
like paper consumed by fire,
no longer here anymore.
i never knew the pain
that rests in her soul
and eats her alive;
now rips us apart
and drags her away
through all deprive.
listen to her drunk talk,
in a cloud of smoke,
her face hidden in sleeve;
the first time i saw effie smoke,
made me see her differently
as i watched her leave.
now the smell of pot lingers
with all her pretty lies,
the rest of her beauty no more.
i watch the ocean waves
crashing in one by one,
coming to die at the shore.
