Summer Reverie
When the canvas of the Heavens is painted blue,
And the sun shines longer to support the azure hue;
When the heat accompanies the blazing light,
And scarlet sunsets display such a lovely sight,
Approaches a humid, but oh so glorious time
When all the world changes her clime,
A time known as Summer Vacation.
For all, a time so plentiful and so sweet
To savor nature’s splendid treat.
Reclining on a hammock of linen white,
I dreamed of many a fascinating sight,
Of places so rich and so diverse, my only melancholy-
Was that I could not reach them; they were but a story
Though this could never have been more mistaken.
From the depths of the heart of a dear friend
Came truth so sure- it would never bend.
I discovered and was all the more content.
No vast ocean did ever spread wider than that of Kindness’s extent,
No pyramid in all of Egypt reached ever closer to the sky than true Fidelity,
No vintage plaza nor mall ever was more abundant than that of Generosity,
And above all I found that Love was the most prosperous mansion.
