Glory of Freedom
my dear country,
i pray;
and i’m not afraid to say
“i’m an american”-
i’m safe, i’m alive, i’m free-
you can’t take that away and
if nothing else we’ve always got
hope, freedom, and glory.
and so it will always be.
there’s something moving about
the american dream:
being who you want because
no matter what we’re free.
and out of the ashes rising
the red, white, and the blue:
there’s something stirring about
the spirit of america
and our dreams to fly anew.
i feel blessed
to be an american,
i’m proud to be an american;
and prayer to those who die
for me,
i thank you for letting me be
free.
