You Be My Anchor
We’ll walk under the crescent moon,
Hand in hand against the cold
For the seasons change and break our souls,
But we know just how to fake the mold
Keep my feet against the ground,
And my head lost high in the clouds,
They’ll never know just how I feel
About the way we act in many crowds
Our time is of the essence, and
We’ve got it all within our open grasps,
And fate’s dancing on our fingertips
While the neighbors can’t help but gasp
Footsteps in the sand wash away like
The dread memories of a past undying
We’ll fight their words and awful stares,
And keep the world of unlawful lying
For they can say what they please,
But we’ll known we’re not just another memory
Hand in hand against the cold,
Because baby, it’s just you and me.
So, keep my feet against the ground,
And my head lost high in the clouds,
They’ll never know just how I feel
About the way we act in many crowds.
