Love?
It's as intoxicating as it is bad
Like the poison of the snake
Just another passing trend, another fading fad
But we share it even with the cheater and the liar
 I separate what lay inside
While the river went and dried
And left us here to die

Do you feel the pain My Sweet
 That agonizing beat
It threatens to crack your sternum
 The banging of that drum
Can you pull it apart, can you?
Or is it too much to ask?
This small request of the impossible task.

 Divulge all its secrets
And then try to meet it
Because what you thought was happiness
 Was really emptiness
You've been through this before My Dear
 So take off your mask
This love, like all the rest
This love will come to pass
