I'm sorry that your life is so bad
That you have your real mom and dad
It must be awful having someone ride your back
Only to ensure you stay on the right track
"They care too much, leave me alone," you scream
While all over the world, thats one child's dream
To be loved and comforted in times of trouble
While you complain they're invading your bubble
"I hate my mom, shes soo damn nosey"
"She wants to spend time and get to know me"
"Why cant they ever just leave me alone"
"I'd be better off on my own"
While you rant and rave about the parents you have
Across the world a kid wishes they had
A mother to laugh with and share good times
And a father to teach them how to spend their first dime
Parents to scold them when they've done wrong
And sing to them their favorite childhood song
A father to be there till the end
And a mother whose needle is ready to mend
Is your life so bad because your parents care
They strive to see you suceed and teach you to be fair
I dont know but to me that sounds like a joke
Somewhere lies a kid dying in smoke
Neglected and abused cuz their parents dont care
While you say yours make you want to pull out your hair
Dont come to me and express words of hate
About the people who strive to help you be great
Be thankful for all the things your parents do
I only wish I had half as much as you
I'm in foster care and its not so bad
So please be thankful for your mom and dad!
