What Have We Become?
Mama, look what I wrote today
The teacher says I’m talented, too
Papa, look at this drawing I made
It’s Father’s Day, I made it for you
Mama, I don’t think I’m still a kid
And I might be a little confused
Papa, won’t you tell me just what I did
Why doesn’t Mama love you?
Mama, were you appointed a throne?
Your constant judgement tears me apart
Papa, I hear we’re tragedy prone
Where does misery end and happiness start?
Mama, don’t want anything to do with you
I’m begging you please stay away
Papa, the boys only want to screw
Won’t you tell me what to say?
Mama, I’m a cold hearted child
Just the way you taught me to be
Papa, I’m a garden grown wild
Even though you forgot to water me
