The Siren and the Sailor
Sail, sail, sail
Sail away with me
And never let these memories go
These memories on the sea.
Dive, dive, dive
Dive below with me
Take my hand and don’t let go
Explore the wonders with me.
Sail, sail, sail
Sail away with me
Soulless creature ‘tis no life worth living
At the bottom of the sea.
Dive, dive, dive
Dive below with me
I may not have a soul
But I only want you to love me.
Sail, sail, sail
Sail away with me
Your life will be better with me
But alas, I cannot love you as I love the sea.
Dive, dive, dive
Dive below with me
How can you love my home
More than you love me?
Sail, sail, sail
Sail away with me
A sailor cannot love
His heart belongs to the sea.
Dive, dive, dive
Dive below with me
You know not what you say
Your heart belongs to me!
Sail, sail, sail
Sail away with me
You’re just a silly creature
And maybe you belong to the sea!
Dive, dive, dive
Dive below with me
Silly creature, you say?
You cannot resist me!
The Sailor did not realize
She could make him do as she wished
For she was a Siren
And a beautiful sea witch
For when she opened her fanged mouth
She let out a ghostly cry
The sea roared and reared
And lightning lit the grey sky
Her beautiful, haunting voice
Drove him insane
He could not save himself
She was leading him to his watery grave
The Sailor then jumped ship
And broke the sea’s rugged surface
The Siren smiled in pleasure
Her song had served her purpose
She wrenched him down below
Into inky darkness
He was going to love her somehow
Or be killed in the process
The Siren then kissed the Sailor
As she drug him down below
His life was fading fast
The light in his eyes did not show
And in that moment the Siren
Felt his heart beat slow
She did not realize
That even lovers can drown
