The River
How can I stop? When all I do is go
How can I drop? When the river flows
Gasping and drowning, but alive to see all
Watching them grow, when all you do is fall
Breaking and dying, trying and crying
Hurting and claiming, blaming the 'rainings'
For flooding the paths, but ending the drought
We fought and fought, with our burning mouth
But ice concaves as our stomachs do
With starvation and loss, suspicions brew
They ask and wonder, innocently curious
Making the fake smile turn her delirious
Because explanation's the last she wants
Drama, judgement, hatred, taunts
So the cat gets blamed for the harmful acts
When all it was, was self harm, matter of fact
So they didn't care when 90 became 82
They didn't care when she said 'it's just the flu'
Because they never listened to all the signs
All they do is ignore, become deaf and blind
Inferiority, as the sun shines away
But she doesn't want a bright sunny day
So the grey clouds came and bidded the sun
Pitter patter, drip drop, dum dum dum
Now drops disguised, tears fall down
Wearing on the surface of the cold, hard ground
Salt and fresh mixing freely together
Not knowing the difference in this wet weather
So crazily confused as it drops to 61
Her arm's a canvas, the painting's done
Ribs, bones, limbs all withering
The slimy thoughts, sneaking and slithering
Back to the river, it runs infinite
Pulling its victims, scary isn't it?
But if we choose our fate, is it so deadly?
To gasp and drown so easily and readily
