I Kings
He's staring at the clock, waiting to play basketball
I'm staring at him and each time I look, I fall
I fall into the trap of loving him all over again
And every time I love him, I hurt to no end
Why does loving him hurt so bad to my bones
He's the first love I have ever known
Every day he's the swirly hearts on my brain
And every night he's the teardrops like rain
His hands holding me is all I want sometimes
Nothing fills the ache of longing but penning out these rhymes
Not even then because I still wish that he was here
But unless my name is Spalding, he doesn't really care
What I really want- I hope it's not a lot to ask
I need security; I need a lover that will last
When all is said and done, I still can't get him out my head
But since his heart is blind to me, I'll just write poetry instead
I wish you would adore me and that I could be the one
The only I'm not, but, boy, these rocks, you layin weigh a ton
And when you're off on a contract, shooting in real nets,
playing the game you treasure
I'll remember how my heart felt when you made my heart melt
And love you forever and ever
