Warm November
I put on my favorite oversized sweatshirt.
I sit close to the fireplace,
warm.
My phone in my hand,
I wait for you.
I look out the window,
watching the brown leaves float from the air,
to the ground.
The balding trees look brittle as the wind lightly blows
against them.
I love the cloudy, almost rainy weather.
It gives me an excuse to stay inside with you,
warm.
My back begins to burn from the radiating heat of the fire.
Finally, I see you.
Your cool lips touch my warm cheek.
We wrap ourselves in blankets,
drinking our favorite hot drink.
We laugh with each other as the cold rain begins to fall.
And we are still
warm.

This is written about my favorite season, winter. It reminds me of how I feel when I wait for my boyfriend to come over to my house.
