The Nature of Us
The nature of human beings
Cannot be described as black or white.
It is much too complicated,
And two colors won’t suffice.
Two ends of an undefined spectrum
With so much in between
An endless sea of gray
Housing destruction and humility
But inside of us we find a choice,
To move along this spectrum
Blurring the lines as we go
Until we forget which path to take
We lose the light in our souls
And the darkness overtakes us
And thus we are reduced
To the absolute nature of us.
