Athena's Aegis
Made by the Cyclops in Hephaestus' forge.
I wore a golden serpent-like scales and a Gorgon’s face rollin’ its eyes.
I was passed as a gift to Athena by her father Zeus,
To protect Athena by killing all who dare to strike me
Because once I’m shook, clouds gather
Around Mount Ida, covering it.
Leading to men to hide from fear before lightning bolts strike the battle-field.
I am the Khryseos & Argyreos of Athena and,
Like a wall, nothing can pass me to harm her.
