You came running home
From the shelter yesterday
And just played with me.
Just you and I.
Two companions just hanging out.
We walk to the rhythm of car horns.
Running down the street after your ball.
The rain poured and you barked
The craziest thing is
Sometimes I laugh about you
Missing all the fur flying around.
I told you, you were a good boy,
As I say goodbye one last time
