Keep Christ in Christmas
The cool crisp air hitting my lungs
The rush of warmth by the fire through my veins it runs
Stockings are hung upon the fireplace
And decorations emerge from their year round case
Gingerbread in the oven
Families spreading the lovin’
The sweet scent of burning candles
And presents by the mantle
All this and more
But we must remember the celebration’s core
God’s gift to the world
Our savior comfy and furled
In the Mother Mary’s arms
She places him in the manger sitting in the old barn
Born in the sacred city of Bethlehem
When no one would welcome them
An angel floating above
Watching over the baby with love
The true joy of the season
Jesus is the reason
