They say it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

But is it?

If the void of heartbreak absorbs all the joy of once great love, and continues afterwards than is it worth it?

If you look at them and you only think off what you lost is it better to look at them blankly instead?

If the unseemliness of pain muddies the pulchritude of love is it better to see a vacant face?

If the breaks and cuts of sorrow are not healed and more by the salves of good memories than is it not better for the body to not suffer such cuts or breaks at all?

And if there is a chance that eventually the light outways it somber adversary, is it worth the pain that it's gloomy predecessors bring.

Or is it better to accept the shady glow of a loveless middle ground?

They say it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

But is it?
