some things are so difficult to admit.
I have hidden my secrets, tucked them away
in the dips of your skin, the gaps in your teeth.
but when I look inside myself,
under my eyelids,
double checking the spaces between my fingers
and rattling my ribcage for thoroughness
I see nothing of you
that wasn’t at least partially created by my own volition
because I have always seen the good in you
without acknowledging the bad.
a flood washes through me, but this time I know
you really are too many things to me.
