Lonely Pt. 2 (The Journey)
I’m grown up, but I’m back here at my roots
But if you came and took a walk here in my boots
You’d see that many things have changed
But one thing that’s the same is I’m still insane
Searching for my purpose I’ve been on a ride
But my boat capsized now I’m drowning inside
Sink in self doubt as I try to survive
But I’m learning how to swim, soon I’ll learn how to fly
Because above the stress, is “I don’t give an F”
About what people say, I think I’ve gone deaf
Loving myself, is the goal that I’m obsessed
With. So now I’m aiming to be at my best
I started this journey so long ago
And I maybe no closer to my goal
But now I know, that walking alone
Is the only way to ascend to my throne

I'm at a crossroads in my life right now and I've been feeling this intense need to revisit my past and reflect on everything I've learned since then. I needed to write and I remembered this site. The poem "Lonely" that I wrote years ago reminded me of my mindset back then and looking at my mindset now I was able to see my growth. I realize that I still have so much more growing to do but I can now respect myself for my growth up to this point. Thank you for everything, TeenInk.
