Asshole
You used to look at me as though I was a piece of art
Only in the sense that you did not know if you liked it or not
Eyeing the curves, where lines ended and scars began
The edges, roughened by the sandpaper of my childhood
Doubt filled my mind as your eyes traveled across my frame
I felt like your prey; trapped, alone
I thought your winds were holding my pieces together
But alas those were the same mistrals wearing my skin down to the bone
Those gusts sent shivers down my spine and pierced my body whilst numbing my mind
Dried me out until nothing more could grow, nothing more could survive
Locked in place, isolated, crippled
But what more could I do
I let you look a little longer
Because as we all know
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
