The Fall
When I met you, the trees were prettier than ever before. When I think of you, I imagine November trees whispering in shades of sunset and strawberry. I imagine the shades of fall as I reminisce, remembering a time I barely knew your eyes. Eyes so brown, so kind, so much less boring than you seem to believe. Eyes I can now picture so clearly. I picture myself someday still thinking of you and the fall. If only I had known how hard I’d fall for you. Now the trees are no longer those familiar shades, but when I’m with you I can still see them. But to be honest, when I’m with you, I see all the colors. Blue for the January sky, green for your sweatshirt, purple for the grapes you love so much, pink for your cheeks, red for your ears, orange for your favorite shade. I had never imagined fall to be so pretty and back then, I had just thought it was the season. I thought the trees had turned so vibrant just because. As I look back, I now know it wasn’t the trees that made my life so colorful, that made fall so gorgeous. It was you.
