Nature’s Eternal Beauty
It’s true nothing gold can stay
The golden sunsets must turn to blue
And the glittering dew drops must evaporate in the afternoon sun
But the blue sky is breathtaking
And the dew drops give life to the vibrant green grass
There's beauty in these things, if you open your eyes to see it
Then you’ll see that nature’s purity never truly left
Even when the bright golden leaves fall from the trees
And the pure white snow covers the grass
Or even when the clouds fill the sky
And mask the sunrise for a little while
Nothing gold can stay
But beauty is forever

The book, Outsiders, inspired this piece. In it Pony Boy quotes one of Robert Frost's poems, Nothing Gold Can Stay. This poem was written in response to that.
