Remember the time we danced with the daffodils?
Remember the time we danced with the daffodils?
The roses envied us,
But they did us no harm,
Ain’t it funny?
At eleven we were invincible but at thirty we are crumbling,
Oh how fast time flies,
Here you are now,
Three kids and a Volvo,
Only now do I realize
The value of time
But we cannot hold it entirely responsible,
Because we could have made amends,
Yet none of us tried,
Where did those memories disappear?
Perhaps they were lost in the rivers that flowed from your hazel eyes
You always complained about my incompetence as a companion,
The situation hasn’t changed though,
And while it upsets me,
I’m still the worst at hellos,
But you won’t find anyone better at goodbyes
Remember the time we danced with the daffodils?
The daisies joined us too,
But as everyone fell asleep,
The sun did too,
And set upon us an everlasting darkness
