three faces
no human being so pure
for we all have three faces
that are sketched into us
for two of the faces we hide
and one of the faces we see.
for the world is subjective
seeing what it wants to see
as the world is putting on the labels for us
judging by the outer appearance
dressing us in the words that make the human
appealing or appalling
for the First Face
is what the World Sees.
for the world may be black and white
seeing what it wants to see
there is more than what meets the eye
for we are conceived from love
whether it be from a mom and mom, a dad and dad, or a mom and dad
family is family and that color the world cannot
tarnish nor diminish it
for the Second Face
is what your Family Sees.
through the black and white world color does show,
but beware the gray is all consuming
for the shadows lurk around you
always present, always persistent
your worst enemy, your best friend
seen you as no one has seen you
as this is the side that you try to hide
that is sown upon every inch of your being
sees what you see in the mirror as it stares into the abyss that is your eyes
the trust reflection of who you are
for the Third Face,
is what You See.
