HIM

I stare wide eyed

My heart flutters at his grace

Yet I shrivel in fear at the expense of my love

He pulls away as my sudden discontent is made evident

I smile, laugh--try to catch his gaze once again

but he looks away; and at most, stares.

Stares longingly, with anger and jealousy

I am an item he cannot possess,

a tool which he cannot use.

At night I call out in my mind--

and in the day, whisper in hopes of rebuilding our trust.

Like ocean tides we sway back and forth;

I sail through his storm, meeting his eyes at the peak of the tempest.

He smiles,

And my heart stops.

Once again am I enthralled by his beauty.
