Walking In The Rain

We walk
Talking about our lives
And any thought that crosses our minds
The river beside us rushes past
Fast and loud
Drowning out the city’s sounds
As we walk the sky grows dark
Each passing minute shows signs of storm
The air is hot and humid
The sky is almost black
And when we finally look up
We know we won’t make it
But still we turn back
It begins to pour
And thunder cracks
Soaking us instantly
We laugh and smile
Walking in the rain
