I want my words to touch your soul
Caress your heart
And make you whole
I want my passages to transport your mind
To places of paradise
Where pain is blind
Instead I sit here on my bed
Filled with a lifetime of words unsaid
Too tired to fall asleep
Too bored to count sheep
A dam has blocked the flow
And my thoughts have lost their glow
So I wait for inspiration to strike
Maybe then I’ll write something I like
