Mathematic crops
Morgan likes planting
She likes walking on the field
Singing songs when watering the plants
And sit on the earth all morning
Rocking with the leaves while winds blow through
One day she has a fabulous idea
She is going to plant crops on the field
But she is not going to plant ordinary crops
Not wheat
Not alfalfa,
Not potatoes
She is going to plant mathematic crops!
Every day she read mathematic textbook to the crops
out loud
Hoping that when they grow up
and are eaten by children
The children will be nice and smart
and good at math
Days past and nights past
Morgan continues to read math to her crops
Like she is the teacher
And the crops are students
She teaches them algebra
She teaches them trigonometry
She reads them theories
She reads them formulae
The season of harvest approaches
Morgan enthusiastically share her crops
with all of her friends
But the result is
After eating the crops
Everyone gets annoyed with math
So annoyed that
Whenever see the math textbook
They want to tear it up
Like what high school students desperately want to do
Why is that?
Oh, it is because the crops are annoyed with math as well!

The idea of reading to crops just came to me when I was chatting with my mother. We were discussing what I want to do in the future. I said living in the mountain or fields, everyday just plant some crops, feed some animals, live the kind of peaceful quiet life in the nature is good enough for me. Because I am the kind of person that love nature very much. I was saying, after I graduate from college, even if I just live in countryside and be a farmer, the crops I plant will be different from normal crops. "Just like l can read to the crops."Â I said half joking, "Then the one who eat the crops will be smart!" Â "Wow, that is a really creative idea!" said my mother. Then the idea just came to me and I said "But perhaps the crops will get annoyed with studying and so the people who eat it will hate studying as well !"
So, here is the poem!
