How the Lonely Girl Grows into Nothing

She doesn’t look up

She doesn’t talk

She doesn’t smile

She is shy

She is awkward

She is scared

They see her struggle

They try to include

They smile

She feels shy

She feels awkward

She feels scared

She is distant

She is quiet

She is cold

They feel awkward

They feel rejected

They stay away

She feels abandoned

She hides away

She cries in silence

They don’t see her cry

They don’t see her anxieties

They don’t see her struggle

She is alone

She is lonely

She tries to feel nothing

They think she’s indifferent

They think she’s rude

They think she deserves to be alone

She sees their anger

She feels their rejection

She thinks she deserves to be alone

She finds comfort in the dark

She finds comfort in the insulation

She finds herself losing the will to feel anything

They continue to live

They move on

They forget about her

She grows bitter

She hates those who are happy

She hates those who have the life she can’t have

She forgets why she stays away

She doesn’t care about being happy

She doesn’t care that she can’t feel

She hates that she can’t change

She hates that she doesn’t want to

She hates that she doesn’t know how

She doesn’t want to feel like this

She doesn’t want to live with this pain

She doesn’t want to live

She hates her thoughts

She's scared of what she might do

She doesn’t want to feel like this

She wants to pain to stop

She tries to make the voices be quiet

She tries to empty herself

She succeeds

Now she feels nothing

Now she is nothing

She is nothing and she doesn’t care
