One,
person looks to the stars
wanting to go above and beyond
on a great
adventure,
dashing and daring and
wanting
to make a name
for
themself.

Two,
person sits in a desk,
hard, wooden, brown
uncomfortable,
staring at the salt and pepper tiles
contemplating, mind wandering
different possibilities:
what if this had happened instead?
or what if I’d done that?
wishing that
something
had gone different.

Three,
person writes in a notebook
its pages filled with cursive ink
the pen gliding across paper
not paying attention to
Regrets
or
Aspirations
Just focusing on staying in the
moment.

I am all three of these people
they are my Past, my Present, my Future
aspects of my personality
my hopes, my dreams, my anxieties
without them, I wouldn’t be me.
