Roses
dear friend,
on my way to the city today
i saw you on the other side of the tracks
waiting for a different train
to take you elsewhere,
far away from me,
far away from us.
rose petals fluttered
from your hair
morning dew
from your eyes.
you looked back at me
as your train arrived
and you and the dawn smiled
(just a little)
and you disappeared.
when we meet again
in the aether of our dreams
i wonder,
would you remember me?
