Sunday Morning Pancakes

Mischief smells like burnt pancakes on a Sunday morning.
The sizzling of batter creates a smell of gratefulness
while smoke rises into the kitchen ceiling.
The smoke dances on the ceiling, expanding in slow fashion,
like a crocodile sneaking up on it’s lunch.
The smoke alarm begins to beep, each scream piercing the ears of the chef.
Mischief smells like burnt pancakes on a Sunday morning along with a beeping smoke alarm.
