You glimmered at the start of a long night.

How do you stay there shining so bright?

Your eyes are such a vast, deep grey.

How I wish to fly up there one day.

Neighboring children go to bed for it is their bedtime.

I stay awake, so I can see your radiant light shine.

Your round shape reminds me of my blouse buttons.

For, you have many spots all over, I see a dozen!

O, Moon how I wish I could feel you with my hand.

When I am older, I will make a plan.

It must be nice to be close to all the stars.

All I can see down here are cars.

You and I are extremely far apart.

Whenever I am down I think of you in my heart.

How could anyone fall asleep, when you are there brilliantly twinkling?

The late night rain has begun to start sprinkling.

I guess this is a sign for me to go to bed.

It is going to be hard because your glow is stuck in my head.

I will see you tomorrow evening.

Man in the moon, I will never stop believing.

The idea for this piece was a little girl talking to the "Man in the Moon" before she goes to bed.
