My Shadows
I envy you.
You stand tall and thin,
just like the girls on the screen.
You look nothing like me.
You really live the life ya know?
Your gorgeous.
Well not what mom calls gorgeous,
but what society does.
No acne.
Perfect hair.
Flawless skin.
Skinny body.
You are what I strive to be.
You fit in.
You aren’t known for eating too much
or being overweight.
You are perfect.
You fit the mold.
You’re so lucky.
You get to disappear
when the darkness exists.
You don’t have to live
through the tears and fights.
You live the life Ive always dreamed of.
Yet, you are me.
You drag me through
the days I just want to leave.
You guide me into the light.
Oh, I wish you could stay with me at night.
