In A Place Where The Sun Does Not Reach, There Are Chains
Look at you,
Arctic weather eyes
Stone face
Bound by chains.
Chains from others.
Chains from yourself.
All holding you up
In a place where the sun does not reach.
In a place the sun does not reach
All these chains
Hold you up
All these chains
Biting into your flesh, piercing your body and bruising your lonely soul.
Oh why do you punish yourself this way?
Why do you keep yourself here?
Shrouded in this crowded godforsaken darkness
While great mountains of verdant grass
dance with wildflowers in the calm breeze
And silky cool melodies from graceful birds soaring above
Await you just an arm’s reach away.
Dismiss the searing glow of those behind you
For they can only grab at you and keep you confined
If you allow them to.
Relinquish the feeble judgements of others,
Do not let the expectations of those with not the same soul even if they share the same passions
Conquer your life.
Free your mind and you shall see the chains no more!
Run out free onto the mountains of verdant grass
And dance with the wildflowers
As the calm breeze enlightens you and
The birds will let out their most spontaneous chords
as they soar and cheer above you
congratulating you for your breakthrough
Continue to climb higher mountains at your own pace
And soon you will find trees with
Big juicy fruits just waiting for you to pick
But know to control oneself
and do not pick too many because there are more
mountains to climb and they may get steeper
And you do not want to risk overwhelming yourself
And dropping all of your sweet fruit.
Now look at you,
Eyes blooming,
Face ablaze,
your mind, hands and feet
slowly healing
ready to meet a new
