Interracial Family
The stares we get are weird
As if people have never seen a white kid with a black family
They look at us and make their own pretenses
All of which are either racist or judgmental
It's weird because everyone loves to see a kid get adopted but only if its by “their own kind”
It's cruel
They say love trumps all
But not when it impedes on their ideas of their cookie cutter lifestyle
Or brings up questions with their kids
People claim to be open minded but will still pass judgment without seeing anything wrong it
Nobody realizes that family is not a color
Its foundation on which you build your morals on
Its love
And trust
But its not color
