Generous phrasing

Violent mobbing

Election rigging

All just for one person

Former President

How can we live

In a society where transparency is rare

This secret letter provides a scare

For the youth who really care

The reporters all seem to tell different stories

Of this mystery letter

“Care for the country”

Is starting to look like Red versus Blue

Left versus right

We can’t seem to see eye to eye

I can’t decide

If the reporters are telling the truth

Or they’re Inciting the youth

To stand divided

All because of

This mystery letter

The author's comments:

I chose to use “Biden says Trump left him a 'very generous letter' before departing White House” By Kate Sullivan, Kevin Liptak and Pamela Brown, CNN, because I thought that it was very interesting that even though Trump wouldn’t even mention Joe Biden’s name, that he would still write a “generous letter”. And because he did not stay for the inauguration. I can not imagine Trump being any sort of nice or respectful towards Biden. This letter situation and the way Trump sort of went out with a bang made me really think about politics differently. Maybe it’s me growing up and forming my own opinions, but I really feel like the lies and the division that we see in our country is directly related to the media’s response. I wish that we knew what was in the letter so that we knew the thoughts of our last president and how our new president will be supported to do the right thing while in control of our country. I pray that there is more professionalism and less pettiness so that real progress can be made and compromise can happen. I think that we have a lot to work on as a nation, starting from the ground up. We all need to respect each other and realize that not everyone will always agree with you, and that is okay. And we need to understand that in a democracy, there will always be a winner, and there will always be a loser. But no matter what the outcome is, we are still one nation and one race.
