This piece, entitled Squash, was written when I was in eighth grade, for the annual National Poetry Writing Month that occurs in April every year. This poem had originally been about the silencing of young people in today's society and fueled by everything that was making me angry or upset or bothered at the time I originally wrote it. Most recently this poem was edited slightly to be adjusted to my view of my current life.
