Endless Green

A field as green as the grass hoppers stretches out in front of me.

The fresh cut grass and crickets remind me of home,

the aroma makes my nose tickle and chirping fills my ears.

I feel a playful push on my back as my friend drags me towards

the endless green stretched out in front of me.

I kick a ball, black and white like pen on paper,

old and bears the scars of being kicked into too many trees.

We push, run, scream, and giggle as the sun sets.

Soon mosquitoes start to nip at our feet and we run back

to the safety of the concert, under the yellow street lights

we play until our parents call us home.

We part with one last hug and run our opposite ways,

eager to see each other again.

This poem describes the field we used to play in by my old house.
