Dear Running
Dear running,
We have a love hate relationship.
I hate the
Pre--race nervousness right
Before the gun goes off,
The burning sensation in my calves,
My lungs telling me to stop.
But yet, I somehow crave all of it.
I love the feeling of
Crossing the finish line
Knowing I gave it my all.
I love my when my teammates, coaches, and parents
Cheer me on the final stretch
Of the race.
I love the things this sport
Has taught me;
Never give in to that voice
Inside your head telling you to
Give up.
Keep going and push through,
No matter how hard things get.
Because if you give up now,
You’ll regret it
