60 Degree Nights
I love warm weather,
I love nights,
I love 60 degree nights,
I embrace the peaceful stillness
of warmth and silence,
I breathe the seemingly clear air
after a long, hard day,
I feel the cool nothingness
that the atmosphere holds,
I watch the colors of the sky fade
from orange
to yellow
to cream
to celeste
to the deep blue hues
that belong to the ocean,
It seems unreal how the sky
can be painted in new shades every day,
But the feeling that these nights brings
is always the same,
A feeling that it will be ok,
That tomorrow will be better than today,
That even though life seems to go on the way it does,
We don’t have to see it that way,
It can be full of beginnings and ends,
It can be full of starting and finish lines,
It can be full of goals and accomplishments,
60 degree nights,
That’s what they are to me

This poem is about my feelings during a nice, cool night. It describes what I see and how I feel internally and externally. I also describe the thoughts that run through my head. I, usually, think that this would happen on a Sunday or after something relaxing before going back to school or something else.
