Serendipity
I nonchalantly took a shot.
Half-concerned,
For such unexpected actions
Yet half-hopeful
For the times we’ve spent together.
I found the right puzzle piece, I think.
Like that one shell shining on the seashore
Like that one quarter gleaming on the streets
Like that one clover with its fourth precious leaf
Just happens to captivate my eyes.
Comes into sight with no particular reason.
I’m not expecting anything, maybe I am.
Just a little, I don’t know.
Then, came in you
Looking less perplexed than I am
Less anxious than I am
More composure shall I say
As if you had a say to my shot
As if you were going to appease me
I took your reply as an affirmative.
Serendipity!
Bored in a flight back home, I decided to write a poem about a word that came into mind: serendipity. I liked how it sounded. I liked its exquisite meaning. I just had to write a poem on it.
The poem relates to an experience I had added with a tad of imagination.
