The things I wish to master
The places I dream to behold
I almost dare to hold those desires as captive as they have held me
To avoid the pains of great anticipation
Life’s sweet poison.
If on the day my dreams are realized
If the objects of my yearnings leave me empty
If they leave my pen stationary for lack of desire
Then who have I become?
