the wait
As the sky cried with rain
Feeling a bit of sadness coming
I stand and watch the rain hitting the tin
Looking out seeing the beautiful colors of the leaves
Wishing that I was laying on your chest
Hearing the loud pound coming from it
Wincing at the loud boom of thunder
Gripping the sides of my arms
Yearning for you to be here
To hold me
As I watch the rain dance off of the tin
I catch a glimpse of the beautiful bright moon
I stand looking up, I think about how it, how lonely it is
As it sits and waits for someone to come and love it
Just as I am, wishing you were here
I stand there and think about how in love I am
And how much I could be there with you
