roads
my hands fisted, knuckles curled
veins popping out
my lips unfurled
i spoke loud as can be
feeling hearing seeing,
i was free
hair flying through the wind
pink skies setting around me
all my layers have been skinned
it’s just me
driving down eastern parkway
learning how to see
This poem reflects my love for driving and feeling free. I am a senior in Louisville, KY and I love my city and it will always be my home.
