Panic Attack
Her lungs burned with every short attempt at a breath,
Salty tears rained onto her lips,
Her knees buckled, and her calloused hands crashed to the floor,
Her phone vibrated for the ninth time,
She ignored it and covered her ears, hoping the ringing that was going in and out constantly would go away,
An anguished scream ripped from her throat,
Her head pounded, making every other sound go away,
The thoughts and voices pierced through the silence, shattering the walls that had protected her before,
She gave way, letting the world go black.
